"July 4th, 1776: “Merciless Indian Savages”

...In the list of formal complaints against Great Britain, the American colonists (chiefly Thomas Jefferson) accused King George of using the Indians to war against the colonists. In the 29th paragraph of the Declaration of Independence, we read this historical statement:

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian savages, whose known rule of warfare, is undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions. 

Jefferson saw Indians as genocide mongers, working for England? Whatever the cause, Indian genocide against whites would certainly be the opposite view of all modern white, anti-American liberals regarding American history..."
